Storyteller with Heart
I write essays, book reviews, and short fiction. As a translator, I am a passionate promoter of contemporary Hispanic women's literature. I have studied writing with authors Michael Griffith, Adrianne Harun, Holly Goddard Jones, Neil Shea, Adam Foulds, Mónica Lavín, and Alberto Chimal, among others. I was born in Philadelphia and lived in New York City for most of my life. There, I worked at Sports Illustrated, Time International, and Interview magazines. In the 1990s, I served as the Program Administrator of The Latin American Workshop, a nonprofit arts and education organization in Manhattan. I toured Europe as a singer-songwriter in the early part of the 21st century. I am a contributor at Public Seminar, World Literature Today, Review: Literature and Arts of the Americas, Reading in Translation, Potent, and Asymptote magazines. I live and work in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
